Butter Tea originated in Tibet in the 7th century with the trade routes between Tibet and China. Tea was from China, and butter, a stable in Tibet, was incorporated into tea drinking in Tibet. Butter Tea is the tea version of Bulletproof coffee with the same benefits of elongating the fast that occurs during sleep. Making butter Tea in the blender is quick, easy and the tea comes out smooth and creamy. Be sure to use good quality tea and butter from grass-fed cows.

Butter Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 English Breakfast Tea Bags
  • 16 ox Hot Water
  • 2 tbsp Butter from Grass-fed Cows
  • 2 tbsp Organic Heavy Cream

Instructions

  1. Brew tea by adding tea bags to hot water and steeping for 5 minutes.

  2. Place brewed tea in a blender, add butter and heavy cream and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy 20-30 seconds.

  3. Serve in a tea cup and sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom. Enjoy!
