Staying in shape is hard when you are 62 and is a real challenge during a global pandemic.

Sure, I have been doing push-up challenges, running the stairs, and walking to the coffee shop in the wee hours. It’s not enough. One day I realized I was getting fit fat!

Fit fat, a hybrid form of healthy where my habits and goals weren’t aligning in the best possible way. I would still be considered healthy and fit by medical standards, but I know what’s up. A few extra pounds around my waist, less muscle definition, lax eating habits, and suddenly I just didn’t feel like the best version of me.

It’s not just looking and feeling great that matter to me; I want be well. This is about bullet-proofing my health to avoid getting sick and improving my odds of a positive outcome if I do. My goal is to put the wellness odds in my favor.

As the year winds down, we are ready to recalibrate the behaviors that got sloppy this year making us feel fit fat. Those little daily habits that can add up to wellness gold if used properly.
